Vancouver Police said Monday that Crown Counsel has approved charges against two more high-profile suspected rioters.
21-year-old Dustin Anderson of Burnaby is facing charges of participating in a riot and assault.
Anderson was the target of intense anger on social media after a video of him allegedly assaulting a Vancouver firefighter surfaced.
A Facebook group entitled “Arrest Dustin Anderson” has over 2,300 members.
Also facing charges is 21-year-old Camille Cacnio of Richmond.
A UBC student, Cacnio publicly apologized for her part in the riot in a blog post days after the riots.
In the post, she apologized to the UBC Faculty of Science and the UBC Rowing team, which she was a part of until last semester. She was apparently fired from her job as part-time receptionist at Burrard Acura, according the Ubyssey newspaper.
Crown Counsel has approved a total of 77 charges against 30 rioters. So far, Vancouver Police have recommended 215 charges against 80 rioters to the Crown.
