Joannie Rochette skating on ABC skating reality show Thin Ice

Olympic bronze medallist Joannie Rochette will perform on March 19 at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods for ABC’s skating reality show Thin Ice.

Rochette’s tribute to her mother, Therese, who died just after arriving in Vancouver to watch her daughter compete in the winter Games in Vancouver, will be on the first night of the three-day competition.

The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck will co-host Thin Ice with four-time Canadian world champion Kurt Browning.

The figure skating reality competition is like Dancing with the Stars on ice but it has pros paired with pros instead of amateurs. Katarina Witt, Kristi Yamaguchi and Dick Button will act as judges.

Featured skating pairs will be Stéphane Lambiel and Shizuka Arakawa; David Pelletier and Elena Berezhnaya; Patrice Lauzon and Jamie Salé; John Zimmerman and Shae-Lynn Bourne; and Michael Weiss and Marie-France Dubreuil.
