BURNABY - A federal MP is trying to figure out whether people really want a gondola to SFU.
Kennedy Stewart has sent out 5,000 surveys to residents in the Burnaby Mountain area.
The MP for Burnaby-Douglas says he wants to know what people think, just in case Ottawa is asked to help fund the project.
The proposed gondola would connect the Production Way Skytrain station to campus.
Translink says it would move up to 4,000 people every hour, and cut down on greenhouse gas emissions.
The project would cost an estimated 120 million dollars.
Critics have said they're worried about a potential lack of privacy if the gondola runs overhead.
